Grassington Festival 15th – 30th June 2018

Grassington Festival has been providing a lively and enriching cultural experience to residents and visitors for 35 years. For the last two weeks of June, Grassington comes alive in a myriad of colours and creativity as artists, bands, art enthusiasts and local people collaborate to entertain and inspire with unusual and unique live performances, from music, dance and street theatre to workshops, talks, walks and creative challenges.

The Great Yorkshire Show Tues 10th – Thurs 12th July 2018

The Great Yorkshire Show is the North’s leading agricultural event and takes place from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th July 2017 on the 250-acre Great Yorkshire Showground on the edge of the spa town of Harrogate.

The 250-acre site is filled with animals, country demonstrations, have-a-go activities and the Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show. Plus there’s fashion, rural crafts and shopping.

The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival Sat 21st & Sun 22nd July 2018

The amazing Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival is coming to Funkirk Farm, Carleton, Near Skipton in 2017. With Yorkshire born James Martin as the event patron, this is an event not to be missed! Featuring celebrity chefs James Martin & Gino D’Acampo

Arncliffe Fete – Sat 11th Aug 2018

A great afternoon of entertainment with road races, fell race, brass band, tombola, strongman competition, games, teas, hot dog stand, ice creams, dog show, children’s races, competitions & fancy dress.

Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival – Aug 2018 dates tbc

Welcome to Kettlewell and Britain’s best Scarecrow Festival. It is a great day out for all the family. Follow the theme of the trail to take you round our idyllic Yorkshire village. Solve the riddles of the trail to find the mystery word – with prizes to be won every day!

Gargrave Show – 18th August 2018

Gargrave Show provides a wide variety of entertainment for all the family. With cattle and sheep judging, show jumping and fell racing, the attractions for 2018 promise to be even better than last year.

Burnsall Feast Sports & Fell Race – August 2018 (TBC)

Burnsall, known as one of Yorkshire’s prettiest villages, is renowned throughout the world for its Sports and most of all for its Fell Race. The race is on record as the oldest Fell race but Games and Sports are referred to in Elizabethan times. In those days it would be very much an impromptu affair probably arranged for the benefit of the children and women of the area.

Malham Show Saturday 25th August 2018

Malham Show is held annually in the heart of beautiful Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales on August Bank Holiday Saturday. Under the shadow of Malham Cove this traditional agricultural and family country show has been taking place for over 100 years.

Kilnsey Show Tuesday 28th August 2018

Held against the magnificent backdrop of Kilnsey Crag, the show has been a showcase for the Dales farming community for over a hundred years and is one of the larger agricultural shows in the North of England. Enjoy produce, craft and trade stands. Horse riding events, livestock, sheep dog trials, fell racing, harness racing and vintage tractor displays amongst other attractions ensure there is interest for all types of visitor.

Harrogate Autumn Flower Show – 14th-16th September 2018

Great gardens begin in the autumn and there is no better place to get started than the Harrogate Flower Show.
Featuring fantastic ideas for your garden, stunning plant nursery displays, live expert demonstrations and great shopping, it offers everything you need to plan and perfect your outdoor space.

Yarndale 29th -30th September 2018

Described as a “creative festival celebrating all things woolly and wonderful”, Yarndale plays host to an impressive selection of talented and passionate exhibitors. The event brings together an inspiring mix of artisan yarns, fibres, haberdashery, kits, books, handmade garments and artwork for sale, as well as creative exhibitions, demonstrations and a full programme of textile workshops.
Whether it’s knitting, crochet, spinning, dyeing or felting, you will find something at Yarndale to delight and inspire you.

Yarndale is held in Skipton Auction Mart.

Dickensian Festival – TBC 2018

Grassington travels back in time for the annual Dickensian Festival. Visitors are treated to a glorious array of sights, tastes & smells from a bygone era. The village is adorned in Christmas lights, the square and streets come alive with a traditional market with shopkeepers and villagers dressed in Victorian costume. Visitors can revel in delight at the musicians, dancers, street entertainers and exhibitions of traditional country crafts.
