Grassington Festival 16th June – 1st July 2017
Grassington Festival has been providing a lively and enriching cultural experience to residents and visitors for 35 years. For the last two weeks of June, Grassington comes alive in a myriad of colours and creativity as artists, bands, art enthusiasts and local people collaborate to entertain and inspire with unusual and unique live performances, from music, dance and street theatre to workshops, talks, walks and creative challenges. Headline acts this year include Bananarama and Newton Faulkner.
The Great Yorkshire Show 11-13th July 2017
The Great Yorkshire Show is the North’s leading agricultural event and takes place from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th July 2017 on the 250-acre Great Yorkshire Showground on the edge of the spa town of Harrogate.
The 250-acre site is filled with animals, country demonstrations, have-a-go activities and the Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show. Plus there’s fashion, rural crafts and shopping.
The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival 22-23rd July 2017
The amazing, Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival is coming to Funkirk Farm, Carleton, Near Skipton in 2017.
With Yorkshire born James Martin as the event patron, this is an event not to be missed!
Arncliffe Fete – 12th August 2017
Starting at 1pm with the Road race, and Fancy dress with the theme of ‘historical characters”.
There will be the usual fell races and side stalls, plus children’s races and Strongman competition.
Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival – 12th -20th August 2017
Welcome to Kettlewell and Britain’s best Scarecrow Festival. It is a great day out for all the family. Follow the theme of the trail to take you round our idyllic Yorkshire village. Solve the riddles of the trail to find the mystery word – with prizes to be won every day!
Gargrave Show – 19th August 2017
Gargrave Show provides a wide variety of entertainment for all the family. With a cattle and sheep judging, show jumping and fell racing, the attractions for 2016 promise to be even better than last year.
Burnsall Feast Sports & Fell Race – 19th August 2017 (TBC)
Burnsall, known as one of Yorkshire’s prettiest villages, is renowned throughout the world for its Sports and most of all for its Fell Race. The race is on record as the oldest Fell race but Games and Sports are reffered to in Elizabethan times. In those days it would be very much an impromptu affair probably arranged for the benefit of the children and women of the area.
Malham Show Saturday 26th August 2017
Malham Show is held annually in the heart of beautiful Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales on August Bank Holiday Saturday. Under the shadow of Malham Cove this traditional agricultural and family country show has been taking place for over 100 years.
Kilnsey Show Tuesday 29th August 2017
Held against the magnificent backdrop of Kilnsey Crag, the show has been a showcase for the Dales farming community for over a hundred years and is one of the larger agricultural shows in the North of England. Enjoy produce, craft and trade stands. Horse riding events, livestock, sheep dog trials, fell racing, harness racing and vintage tractor displays amongst other attractions ensure there is interest for all types of visitor.

Yarndale 23rd -24th September 2017
Described as a “creative festival celebrating all things woolly and wonderful”, Yarndale plays host to an impressive selection of talented and passionate exhibitors. The event brings together an inspiring mix of artisan yarns, fibres, haberdashery, kits, books, handmade garments and artwork for sale, as well as creative exhibitions, demonstrations and a full programme of textile workshops.
Whether it’s knitting, crochet, spinning, dyeing or felting, you will find something at Yarndale to delight and inspire you.
Yarndale is held in Skipton Auction Mart.
Dickensian Festival – December 2017 TBC
Grassington travels back in time for the annual Dickensian Festival. Visitors are treated to a glorious array of sights, tastes & smells from a bygone era. The village is adorned in Christmas lights, the square and streets come alive with a traditional market with shopkeepers and villagers dressed in Victorian costume. Visitors can revel in delight at the musicians, dancers, street entertainers and exhibitions of traditional country crafts.
